The Move to more spacious premises – which is expected to be completed by next April – will give Liberty IT the potential to grow by 50 per cent.

Established in Belfast in 1997, Liberty IT is located in 29,000 sq ft of offices in Clarendon House, Adelaide Street.

The company, a wholly owned subsidiary if US-based global insurer Liberty Mutual Group, will be fully installed in the new premises between Adelaide Street and Alfred Street by the end of its current lease.

William Hamilton, managing director of Liberty IT said: "Nine years ago we were a start-up operation. This milestone is a real reflection of how far we have come in such a short amount of time.

"We worked hard to find premises which would be suitable for all of our technical needs and we are delighted to have found new city centre premises at Adelaide Exchange to support our growth.

"Our employees enjoy the convenient city centre location at Clarendon House and it is great that Adelaide Exchange will continue to offer the same city centre proximity and accessibility to public transport."

The announced expansion coincides with the appointment of the company's 200th employee, Cheryl Shaw.

A Senior Business analyst, she will work directly with Liberty Mutual Group executives in the US to develop Custom software which will help streamline business operations.

"I'm excited about joining Liberty IT and being part of a growing and progressive company. My new role will be very challenging and I'm looking forward to my first trip to the US to meet Liberty Mutual executives," Ms Shaw said.

"The Adelaide Exchange offices look very impressive and it'll be great to be situated so close to the city centre."

Adelaide exchange, which is being developed by Straben Developments, comprises 230,000 sq ft of high specification office, retail units, a hotel and an adjoining leisure complex.

Liberty IT will occupy the top fiver floors in one of the office blocks.

Crothers Chartered surveyors acted on behalf of Liberty IT in securing the letting at Adelaide Exchange.
