Liberty IT Employees Committed to Saving Lives

Liberty IT joined forces with the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service (NIBTS) for the first time in September 2009. The NITBS were invited to set up a temporary blood donation unit in the Liberty IT offices where the employees really got behind the initiative donating in total a lifesaving total of 29,700 ml of blood. Such was the success of the initiative the NITBS made a second visit this year on April 29th where employees donated a further 38,624 ml. A third date for donation has already been set for October 2010.

The blood donated by Liberty IT employees will go to support the delivery of health care in Northern Ireland. Blood transfusion is life saving and life enhancing. Blood is supplied to accident victims, people who have had surgery, cancer patients and very premature infants helping increase survival rates.
