Tell us why you chose a career in IT.
I’d always had a fascination with computers from an early age, taking them apart and putting them back together again (with varying levels of success!) so it just seemed like a natural progression for me. I love technology and here in Liberty IT, I get to work with the latest technologies which is very exciting.
Why did you choose to join Liberty IT over other companies?
I was at the Career Zoo event in Dublin last September and the first stand I saw was Liberty IT. Initially it was the stand’s large blue banner that grabbed my attention, but after talking to the employees there, thankfully the company kept my attention! So much so, that when I got home that evening, I went straight onto the Liberty IT website and applied for what was to become my role!
What were your first impressions of joining the company?
I found the company to be a really welcoming place when I first joined; if I needed anything or had a query, there was always someone there to help me out. It really helped me to settle into the team quickly.
Tell us about your current role within Liberty IT.
I’m working as a Systems Administrator as part of the global Mid-Range Operations team. Our work is really dynamic and different every day, from responding to daily incidents to project work. No two days are ever the same, which is fantastic.
What’s the best bit of career advice you’ve been given?
Work hard, laugh often!
If you could have any job in the world, what would it be and why?
If I wasn’t doing what I’m doing now, I would love to own my own coffee shop. I am a huge lover of coffees, teas and sweet treats so it would be right up my street!
