As we all moved to working from home in 2020, our message was clear – “Family first, work second”. We’re still at home and reinforcing that mantra even more. Our teams have put in a massive effort to ensure we all take care of our own wellbeing, whilst still supporting our local communities through a tough year.

A highlight for many of us was the LIT Gets Moving exercise challenge which ran over the summer months, run by our health and wellbeing committee LIT Balance – in all, 131 employees logged the equivalent of 36,674 miles! We’ve continued it into a Winter 2021 challenge – and beyond.

We launched our Pride @ LIT committee  – and got involved in the Virtual Pride Parade again in Summer.  Our employee committees kept us all up to date with useful resources about working from home, with our wellbeing team at LIT Balance helping us take care of our mental health, Women in Tech educating us on impostor syndrome and Green Scene helping us recycle and garden at home. We do it all with a sense of fun, even when Balance are putting us through fitness bootcamps!

Our fundraising committees continued to support The Welcome Organisation and Pieta House, raising over £24,000 and €11,000 respectively. Our teams got really creative in their fundraising efforts – we had competitions for Easter and Halloween, raffles, and virtual mini marathons, stair climbs and cycles. This was added to online donations, diversion of social club subscriptions and match funding from the business to achieve these great totals, which we know mean so much to our charities.

Participants in our Serve With Liberty Days worked with a Dublin homelessness charity to create a new app for their volunteers, which recently won a Digital Innovation Award at the Charities Institute Ireland awards. We continue to support Tech for Good Dublin and our STEM committee set themselves a challenge to design a world class work experience programme that could be delivered remotely - nothing stops us!

Thank you to all our employees who have made this possible – we’ll keep looking after ourselves and our communities in 2021 and beyond!
