We are proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Galway City Museum, bringing STEAM learning to junior cycle students.
Building on the success of the STEAM Studio initiative in Belfast, our collaboration aims to create an engaging and innovative learning environment for pupils that connects technology with the cultural heritage of Galway.
The programme, which was officially unveiled at Galway City Museum, is a new educational partnership pilot to support Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics learning for young people, offering pupils a hands-on opportunity to develop coding and problem-solving skills while exploring the museum's rich collections.
Building on success: inspiration from Belfast’s STEAM Studio
This pilot programme takes inspiration from our STEAM Studio at the Ulster Museum in Belfast, where over 1,400 students have already participated in creative, tech-driven workshops.
In Belfast, students have been challenged to design and code their own arcade games inspired by museum artefacts, combining creative storytelling with technical skills.
The Galway initiative will adapt this successful model to highlight the museum’s local heritage while introducing students to the world of coding and technology.
What can students expect from STEAM Studio?
The Galway STEAM Studio will deliver hands-on workshops that blend creative exploration with technical education. Here’s what we have in mind:
Engaging curriculum to stimulate students will learn to design, code, and create projects inspired by museum exhibits
Interactive workshops led by our experienced team to ensure a fun and supportive learning experience
A school-approved coding platform to allow students and teachers to continue developing their skills beyond the workshop.
This initiative is not just about teaching technology; it’s about sparking imagination and helping young learners see the connection between the past and the future.
