Community Impact

Pride helps create space for LGBTQ+ employees and allies to connect, learn and be visible across Liberty IT. The group supports allyship and awareness through activity such as the Certified Ally programme, Pride Month learning, knowledge shares and in-office celebrations. Employees also have opportunities to take part in Pride events across our locations. Through Pride, our teams can learn more about LGBTQ+ inclusion, support each other and help build a culture where people feel seen, respected and able to be themselves.

Women in Tech supports the attraction, development and progression of female talent across Liberty IT. The group creates opportunities for learning, mentoring, networking and conversation. Activity has included International Women’s Day events, mentoring circles, networking meet-ups, maternity returner support and connection with programmes such as SistersIN. It helps women build confidence, visibility and community in technology, while also creating opportunities for employees right across Liberty IT to learn, support and advocate.

STEM connects Liberty IT employees with students, educators and early careers audiences. The group helps young people understand what a future in technology can look like. Employees support activity such as school outreach, careers fairs, work experience, coding workshops and stories that show the range of roles across Liberty IT. This work helps make technology feel more accessible and real. It gives students a chance to ask questions, meet people working in the industry and see that there are many different routes into tech.

Green Scene brings people together around sustainability and environmental awareness. The group helps our people learn more about environmental issues and take practical steps at work and in their local communities. Activity has included Plastic Free July, sustainable living blogs, swap shop initiatives, tree planting, beach clean-ups and talks on waste, recycling and sustainable practice. Green Scene shows how employee-led action can start with everyday choices and grow into shared activity. It gives people a way to learn, contribute and think more carefully about the impact of how we work and live.

Balance supports wellbeing across emotional, physical and financial health. The group helps keep wellbeing visible through practical activities, events and learning. Activity has included movement challenges, financial wellbeing sessions, health checks, Mental Health Awareness Week activity and education on topics such as running, cycling, healthy eating and work-life balance. Balance gives our employees more ways to connect around wellbeing and healthy habits. It also helps make wellbeing part of everyday culture, shaped by people who care about supporting one another.

Giving brings people together to support charities and causes close to our teams. The group helps employees fundraise, volunteer and raise awareness for causes that matter to them. Its activity connects closely with Serve with Liberty, where employees give working time to support local organisations, and with our charity partnership with Cancer Fund for Children. Giving helps turn care into action. It gives people across Liberty IT ways to support communities beyond the day job, whether through donations, fundraising, volunteering or team-led activity.

Able supports disability inclusion, accessibility and awareness across Liberty IT. The group helps create space for learning and conversation around accessibility, disability, neurodiversity, workplace adjustments and support at work. Activity has included awareness events and Neurodiversity Month planning, helping employees build understanding and confidence. Able helps keep accessibility and inclusion visible. It encourages people to listen, learn and keep improving the experience our people have at work.

Unity focuses on cultural understanding, race, ethnicity and solidarity. The group celebrates diverse backgrounds and helps us all learn from one another’s experiences. Its activity creates space for conversation, cultural awareness and connection across teams and locations, with planning linked to moments such as Belfast Mela. Unity supports a workplace where different backgrounds and perspectives are recognised, respected and valued. It helps our people build understanding in ways that feel practical, human and relevant to everyday culture.

Social Club helps our teams connect through activity across Belfast, Dublin and Galway. The group organises regular events that help people meet others outside their immediate teams. Activity has included meals out, go-karting, games, quizzes, sporting events, theatre visits, wreath making and cross-location gatherings. It supports the everyday moments that help people feel part of a wider team. For new joiners and long-standing employees alike, Social Club helps make Liberty IT feel more connected across locations.

Our Mental Health Champions are trained to provide confidential peer support and signposting. Their role is to listen, support and help people across Liberty IT find the right resources when they need them. They are not a clinical service, but they help make support easier to find and easier to talk about. The group also helps keep mental health visible through awareness activity, posts, events and moments such as Mental Health Awareness Month. It gives wellbeing a practical presence in the everyday experience of working here.

Liberty IT Choir brings people together through music, rehearsals and performances. The choir includes virtual and in-person rehearsals, with opportunities for employees to perform together at company and external events. It has also taken part in the Workplace Choirs competition at Cork Choral Festival. It is a simple but strong example of connection beyond the work itself. People from different teams and locations come together, build confidence and create shared moments through music.

Menopause Champions help our employees access support, information and signposting around menopause. The group was created to support people who have questions or need guidance, while also helping to build wider awareness across Liberty IT. Activity has included meet-ups and planning around World Menopause Day. This support helps make an important life-stage experience easier to understand and discuss. It also shows that inclusion at work means recognising that people need different kinds of support at different times.
