Lessons learned from user testing 13,000km away

At the end of September, Vicki Anderson and three of her teammates in Liberty IT travelled to Bangkok to carry out user testing on the application they are building for LMG Insurance Thailand.
Vicki says, 'Planning the trip we were under no illusions that this would be a normal user testing session. Jet-lag, a translator, and time restraints were just some of the ways that this differed from testing in Dublin. Being prepared for unexpected challenges, we were able to adapt during the week, take some of our learnings on board to tweak our methods and ensure our we got the best out of each session. Going forward we will aim to take an iterative approach to trips and build these learnings into our process.'
As a result of the trip, Vicki has determined her six key tips on carrying out user testing abroad, and has written about them here.
