Monday, August 13, 2018
Liberty IT were proud sponsors at this year’s code camp with Belfast Met at their Titanic Quarter campus.
A team of seven Liberty IT volunteers attended the camp to coach the young females, aged 15-19, on three projects; cyber security, IOT and web technology. This gave the girls the opportunity to find out more about the growing IT and digital industry.
Laura Mackin, Marketing and Communications Manager attended the prize giving on the final day of the camp. Laura commented:
“It was truly inspiring to meet all of the girls involved in the Belfast IT Girls camp. It was fantastic to see such brilliant talent from these young females who took such an interest in the projects, asked lots of questions to our volunteers and were so enthusiastic to find out about the technologies we work with on a day-to-day basis.”
“Liberty IT are involved in a number of programmes to encourage young women and men into the working world of IT. We were delighted to partner with Belfast Met on this event which focused on cyber security, Internet of Things and creating digital content; three area our teams are heavily involved in.”
“We look forward to hearing what the future brings for the young females in their professional lives and we hope to see them all again working with us at Liberty IT.”
A total of 42 girls graduated from the IT summer camp on Friday 10th August 2018.
