Five students are completing work placements in our Galway Hub for the first time.

Group of five Liberty IT employees

Over an eight month period, the programme will provide five students from University of Galway and TUS Athlone with a unique insight into a career in technology.

Not only will they have access to our full suite of Learning and Development resources, they'll also take part in both instructor led and virtual training.

The students will complete a training programme in cloud technology and data, which has been specifically created for them, and will be fully embedded in one of our software engineering teams.

Opening entry-level pathways

Showcasing life in STEM is a major focus for us and we invest heavily in supporting the future talent.

We're delighted to provide this valuable learning opportunity, and offer hands-on experience from some of the best talent in tech.

“Work Experience is hugely important for students, not only to find out what they enjoy working on, but also to expose them to paths they may not have considered before. We’re looking forward to watching our placement students thrive during their time with us and we’re confident the programme will give them a fun and exciting insight into what it’s like to work in IT, inspiring them to consider it in their future,”

Darren Muldoon, Site Lead, Liberty IT

Investing in growth

These efforts add to the heavy investment we're making in our extensive Learning and Development offerings.

The programme will give the students the unique opportunity of working on some of our parent company, Fortune-ranked Liberty Mutual Insurance’s, most important and complex business problems.

They are fully empowered to bring code from idea right through to production!

“I'm really enjoying my work placement at Liberty IT. Each day I get the opportunity to learn new technologies and skills and it is great to be able to work alongside highly skilled teams - I know this work experience programme is really shaping and enhancing my career in technology.”

Szymon, Software Engineering Intern
